EXPO ZEBU 07
Uberaba, Brazil   May 3-11, 2007

Nancy McKenney. Billy Dan and Suzanne Lindley
and Dr. Carl McKenney in Uberaba, Brazil.
Long trip, good cattle and wonderful hospitality.

ABBA President, Dr. Carl McKenney and ABBA Vice President, Billy Dan Lindley traveled to Brazil representing the American Brahman Breeders Association during Expo Zebu 2007.
We thank President of ABCZ, Orestes Prata Tibery for all of the wonderful hospitality..

Ninety nine percent (99%) of all cattle in Brazil are Bos Indicus ( humped cattle).
We were in Brazil as guests of the ABCZ (Association of Brazilian Cattlemen Zebu).

Expo Zebu 2007 was concluding their month long exposition of Zebu cattle.
All the cattle were humped: dairy or beef, Gray, Red or Black.
ABCZ registers over 20 different Breeds of only Bos Indicus cattle.

We watched the American Brahman show from our seats during great weather.
Our Brazilian friends have recently recognized American Brahmans in their ABCZ Association.

American Brahmans in Brazil have made progressive strides in the last five years.
They are becoming more popular to help improve carcass quality in beef animals.

Look out!!    Doc has a new stick.

Run away baby

Guzerat's are BIG

We enjoyed watching the cattle showing.
Baby calves were running thru the fair grounds as if to say Mama can't find me.
Billy Dan just thought his cattle were big after standing beside this 3000 pound bull.

We toured several ranches during our visit.

Last years Champion at the

As of this meeting there were 31 participating Cebu (Bos Indicus) cattle associations participating.

Doc was elected to serve as 2nd Vice President during this coming term.
The gentlemen to Doc's left is incoming FICEBU President Fabio Jaramillo representing Columbia.

The Zebu museum of Brazil was very impressive.
We visited the exhibits of the different Zebu breeds.

Nancy and Doc
Doc has semen from the bull on the center.

Nancy and I were shown thought the museum by the Daughter-in-law of the museum's founder.
We heard many wonderful stories behind many of the exhibits.

We attended elaborate Sales with lots of excitement and top prices.

The cattle sales consisted of of flashy sale rings, assigned seating
and service of food and beverage by formal waiters.

At this sale Patrica was showing and selling jewelry from her boutique, Acessorio.
We got ourselves and our girls several good looking pieces.  I expect to see this young woman's creations make a big splash in the fashion world.

We thank Gerson Simão, International Relations Manager, ABCZ, and his staff who
made our trip so informative and enjoyable.  I must say they catered to everyone's needs.
